The Artificial Intelligence Latvia Association (MILA) announces the election of a new board, which brings together leaders and experts from various industries with extensive experience in business, innovation, and technology development. The board's goal is to provide strategic support to the association's activities and promote the development and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in Latvian business and society.

The new MILA board includes six industry experts: Armands Broks, founder and CEO of fintech company "Twino"; Oksana Sivokobilska, Financial sector digitalization strategist; Dmitrijs Jemeljanovs, Machine Learning expert and head of Forward IT Consulting; Gatis Romanovskis, CEO of "Hansab"; Kristaps Siliņš, brand strategist and leading partner of the McCANN group; Guntis Kalniņš, experienced technology industry leader; and Dmitrijs Ņititins, board member and Chief Technology Officer at SIA "TET".

The board will function as strategic support for the MILA management, providing recommendations and helping the association achieve its goals in AI industry development, strengthening the business and research ecosystem, and educating the public about the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence.

MILA Executive Director Arvils Kupris emphasizes: "For AI development in Latvia to proceed faster and more efficiently, both practical support for companies and a strategic vision are needed. The newly established MILA board will make a significant contribution to promoting industry growth, developing AI innovation exports, and creating appropriate regulations."

MILA plans to continue developing several key areas of activity. Promoting education and training is an essential goal of the association, so quality and regular seminars and training will be organized to increase public and business understanding of the opportunities provided by AI. The association will also actively work in the field of interest representation, representing the interests of the AI industry in state institutions and promoting the development of appropriate regulations.

One of the most important aspects will be export promotion, supporting Latvian companies in developing AI solutions and implementing them in international markets to increase competitiveness. Funding will also be attracted by cooperating with companies and identifying support programs that would promote AI development in Latvia.

MILA will continue to implement talent development programs to attract and develop young people in the field of AI, as well as promote cooperation between academia, public administration, and industry to strengthen the AI ecosystem in Latvia.
